How to overcome lust?

People are struggling with lust. "I'm masturbating, I'm into pornography,yellow journals, sex chats, I read yellow mags and can't be without watching X rated movies, I've had immoral relationship with someone, I can't resist having sex with my girl/boy friend, I'm tempted to cheat my wife,my friend's husband is too hot for me, at office I have so much of pressure from my colleague/boss to have sex...............so on and so forth are the constant complaints from people who want to live a pure life but yet can't. Here is a way out

She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house. (Genesis 39:12)

This was Joseph. Even if lust pulls you by your shirt, run out of it, escape, flee.And GOD raised this Joseph as the greatest power next only to Pharoah.The following verse says how to tackle lust.

Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (II Timothy 2:22)

As I was meditating on this Word, I found that to flee the lusts and evil desires of youth, it is imperative to keep ourselves in the company of people who call on the Lord..........ALONG WITH THOSEWHO PURSUE GODLINESS.... pursue is to run after, to seek, to chase, to aim at..........
Yeah to keep ourselves pure we should be in the company of people who pursue holiness and righteousness of the Lord.

After running away from lust, we should run into a company of people who love GOD. A prayer meeting, a Worship service, a Bible Study or a Gospel Outreach or a Fasting Prayer or any such fellowship which looks upon the LORD JESUS CHRIST will keep us safe from lust.

If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. (Matthew 5:29,30)

Even if it is an important thing like your Eye or Hand, cut it off and throw it away. Even if it is an important relationship that you have had from childhood drop it, if it causes you to sin. Even if it is a job that gives u bread throw it off if it is causing you to sin. Even if it is a cable connection that lets you watch spiritual program through GOD TV or any spiritual channel or sports or NEWS, cut the connection if it is making you watch late night adult movies.

It is better for one to reach heaven without all these than reaching hell after having all these.

Read the BIBLE a lot. It gives light to the eyes

The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. (Psalm 19:8)

Keep praying. It can keep away from sinning.

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." (Matthew 26:41)

Yes, the spirit is willing to keep away from sin.But the body is weak'It can't resist the temptaion.Hence pray to GOD who can keep you from falling.

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. (Jude 24:25)



May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. (I Thessalonians 5:23,24)

How to know and do God's will?

For almost all of us this is a billion dollar question.What is God's will in my studies, in my job, in my marriage, in my family, finances, in this important decision that I have got to make. The answers are here.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.(Job 42:2)

So, no plan of GOD for your life can be thwarted (stopped/halted/obstructed) by anyone........... Not by Satan, not by your sinful nature, not by your enemies and not by anyone or anything that you can ever name her in this universe or anywhere in the neighboring Andromeda Galaxy or from anywhere.

Just read the following verses from the Bible. They will clearly state how GOD can execute his powerful will and wish.

The LORD does whatever pleases him,
in the heavens and on the earth,
in the seas and all their depths.(Psalm 135:6)

This verse says that whatever GOD wants, he will do it in the heavens and in the earth and in all deep places (that really means hell, a place of immeasurable depth)

Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him.(Psalm 115:3)

GOD knows what you are, where you are going and even the word that you are going to speak next.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD (Psalm 139:2-4)


GOD has already written a diary for you in which each day of your life was already written, even before you started your life in your mother's womb

your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be. (Psalm 139:16)

So what should I do?
Answer:
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (I Thessalonians 5:18)
